LAMDA exams are becoming ever increasingly popular. It provides children with an opportunity to measure their improvement as a performer while honing essential performance skills. While LAMDA cover a variety of performance exams, we at JKPA will be focussed on the following:

LAMDA examinations in: 'Performance: Acting' designed to develop the skills necessary to communicate dramatic text to an audience. Learners will develop: Interpretative skills, Technical skills, Knowledge of the performance process.

...and LAMDA examinations in 'Musical Theatre' designed to help students to develop their acting and singing skills. They encourage empathy and self-awareness, as learners are required to present believable characters through both acting and song.

Our aim in teaching this is to encourage the students to grow in their love for drama and musical theatre, so the exam aspect, while important, is secondary to their enjoyment and the confidence they gain as performers but with a tangible goal.
